Le Author’s Note: Look another chapter! Let the heavens rejoice! But really, I missed playing my game so more updates, huzzah! This chapter is going to be short since it’s more of a filler for a character’s backstory but at least it’ll be off my mind and written down. Lilith’s story is coming along slowly because the file is laggy and crashy. I think I’ll delete all the non important people there so it’ll run smooth and what not. Or at least try to, but anyway, on to the show!
—————————————————————————————————————
It was dark when I awoke. Well, not exactly dark, but dim. I sat up slowly, my body was stiff which must mean I’ve been on the garishly colored floor for a long while. I pulled myself up on the little board that was hanging right behind me and looked around slightly. The things I noticed: One; I was in a small cell of some sort. Two; there are no windows and only one way out of here which would be the staircase leading out to who knows where.
Three; my head was pounding… What the hell happened for me to get here? And four; well shit…
Someone else was here. Watching me look around. When my eyes landed and focused on the person they perked up.
“Finally, you’re up. I was beginning to get sick down here. Mother could have at least made it nicer.” she says standing in front of the cell. “Well, at least she was right, you are cute.”
“Who are you and where am I?” I ask still mildly confused about this whole thing.
“You are in a little cell under my mother’s mansion, in Under-Esterdale. I am Lily.” she stares at me for a moment before continuing; “I’m guess your head is still fuzzy then?”
I nod slowly, wary of what she might do. Her name sounded so familiar and yet, I couldn’t think of what significance it held. She sighed and crossed her arms.
“Alright listen and listen well, I’m going to be nicer than what I normally am for a moment and tell you why you’re in here.” she says and I scoff silently to myself. I didn’t like her as soon as she opened her mouth but now she just made me dislike her even more. “You know my name and I know your name, Ezra. You’re in here because of my mother and her stupid plan to take over this place.” Lily’s face contorted into something like anger at the last part. “She’ll never do it but she’s too stubborn to get that through her thick skull so she keeps trying to pair me up with… well your bloodline for reproduction.”
“What? That’s… that’s–”
“Stupid, yeah I know because it’ll never work. You see, this all started way back when Genesis, you remember him right? Yeah of course you do. Who could ever forget a guy like that? Anyway, he’s the true ruler of this place, yada yada. Your dad, Henry, well he’s pretty much predestined to always and forever be Genesis’s advisor and stuff so my mother got this strange notion in her head that if I marry Henry, have a kid, and be all buddy buddy with Genesis, she’ll be super close to the throne and could snatch it up whenever. But the thing is, I don’t and never will love Henry, I have Emillio and although father actually arranged for us to get married, I wanted Emillio…” she says wistfully. So dad was supposed to marry Lily, have a kid and have the kid grow close to Genesis…?
“That makes no sense.” I say blinking, trying to make sense of it.
“Mother thought Genesis would have a kid, they fall in love with Henry’s and I’s child, you know, fairytale stuff. The thing is she got her damned wish, she’s Queen, but she’s paranoid that they’ll revolt. Though she killed off most of the population… Genesis isn’t even a threat to her anymore.” she sighs and a question arises in my head.
“Why are you telling me this? What gain will you get from all this?”
“I’m telling you this because she still wants to get in on the bloodline, she wants us to have what Henry and I were supposed to have but it won’t work. I have Emillio and you don’t even belong in this world. As much as I hate commuting with you and Henry, when need a plan. I don’t want anything to do with you and I know you don’t want anything to do with me.”
“Why don’t you stand up to her yourself? She technically isn’t responsible for your actions… is she?” I ask skeptical of Lily’s proposition.
“I’m the only one with a key to the cell Ezra, Therefore I’m the only one who can get you out. Listen to me, do as I say, and we won’t have a problem okay? I actually want to get you out of here but we have to work together on this. Now pay attention.”

Henry’s POV:
“This is all my fault. I can’t believe I screwed up… this is all–“
“It’s not your fault Jasmine. Stop blaming yourself.” Genesis cuts off her blaming. She’s been doing that ever since we discovered Ezra to be missing two days ago… well kidnapped would be the right word since we know where he is. We just need to figure out how to get him back and with Jasmine on the verge of crying all the time, it’s actually complicating things.
“I can’t stop blaming myself because it is my fault! I was the one in charge of the spell, I was the one who was supposed to keep him off the radar but then Chenille wanted to push me–” she starts but is immediately cut off again.
“Great, blame Chenille, it’s her fault.”
“But it’s not… she wasn’t supposed to keep Ezra off the radar, I was.” Jasmine sobs and I sigh loudly.
“It’s no one’s fault, it was one hiccup, one mistake. What’s important is that we get him back. We know where he is, all we need to do is go get him back… All we need is a plan.” I say not succeeding in my attempt to make Jasmine feel better.
“A plan, yeah, we’ve been trying to come up with one since he was taken. You got something new?” Genesis asks skeptically.
“Actually, I do. More than likely, the Queen wants me for a specific reason and she took Ezra as insurance. So what we, more specifically I, do is walk up to her and offer–“
“That’s a stupid plan. Knitemair is there and–“
“Shiro is off the grid. He fled, apparently. I found a note lying on my desk saying he left for Above and shattered his orb though I don’t believe that bit for a minute. We only have to deal with Knitemair, one of us can distract him while someone else breaks my son out.” I state simply. It wasn’t an all that convoluted plan, fairly easy really… Get in, get out; simple.
“Knitemair can invade minds you know, if he senses more than just the one who distracts him he’ll alert the Queen telepathically and she’ll…” Genesis got quiet then, thinking.
“She can’t really do anything. She’s down a minion and if anything, she’ll make Knitemair doing everything.” I say and the backdoor flew open with the twins bounding in; Kona and Phoenix in tow.
“Well I still think it’s a stupid plan. You can recruit the two if you want.” Genesis says standing up and maneuvering around Jasmine to the kitchen. The twins looked around before speaking.
“So, why so glum everyone?” they say in unison, copying each other’s movements.
“Ezra’s been kidnapped, Henry’s devising a plan to get him back, it’s a stupid plan. That’s all you two need to know and get these dogs out of my house.” Genesis growls at them but they don’t listen to him.
“What plan Henry?” Techno asks with Logic nodding furiously. “Yeah what plan? Can we help?”
“The plan is simple, I just need someone to distract Knitemair while I go and talk to the Red Queen. Now I would ask you two but…” I trail off thinking of the possible negative outcomes.
“I’ll distract him. I need to do something to help anyway.” Jasmine pipes up and everyone looks at her.
“I would gladly allow that but the outcome is the same as if the twins would do it so–” “Then all three of us will!” Logic cuts in, “Yeah three distractions are better than two! Plus it’ll give us time to find Ezra. Phoenix misses him a lot you know.” Techno says bouncing on his feet. I looked to Jasmine and seeing her puppy dog face did it.
“Fine, you three be the distraction. Genesis…” I start.
“I’ll be back up ok? If anything I can knock Knite out… maybe.” he says and I smile. I suppose that’s what best friends are for. Now all we need to do is put this in action.
